Comparison
Witina AI vs Domotz
Domotz and Witina AI are built the same way: a cloud console, with a small collector on your site that only connects out. Domotz is priced per site and covers a lot of ground, from switches to cameras and power strips. The differences are where your device credentials are stored, how configuration changes are controlled, and how quietly discovery starts.
Compared on 30 September 2026 using Domotz's own documentation. Sources are at the end of the page.
Your credentials stay on your network
Domotz's security whitepaper says: "All the credentials and configuration data of network devices shared with Domotz are sent to the cloud, stored there using AES-256 encryption rotated annually." Witina AI relays a credential to the gateway on your network and encrypts it there.
How credential storage works →Changes you can approve and undo
Domotz backs up configurations on the models it lists, shows diffs, alerts on drift, and can restore a saved backup or apply an uploaded file. Its docs don't describe approvals, scheduling or checking a change afterwards. In Witina AI, a change can go through approvals and a schedule, snapshots the device first, is verified, and can be rolled back.
Discovery that starts by listening
Domotz discovers devices on the collector's subnet over layers 2 and 3, pings them every 30 seconds, and scans routed subnets with TCP and ICMP probes. Witina AI starts passive, listening to the DHCP, LLDP/CDP and mDNS traffic already on the wire, so onboarding doesn't trip your IDS. Scanning is opt-in.
Alerts that name the fix
Domotz's root-cause help is alert dependency: when a parent device goes down, alerts from the devices behind it are grouped. Witina AI's rules name the cause and the fix for the faults they cover, like an unexpected spanning-tree root or a duplex mismatch.

What it costs
Both publish their prices, and they count differently. Domotz charges per site with unlimited devices, so one office full of gear costs less on Domotz. Witina AI charges per device and is free up to 10, so a small office costs nothing, and multi-site networks and MSP books come out ahead.
| Network | Witina AI, per month | Domotz, per month |
|---|---|---|
| Small office 1 firewall, 2 switches, 5 access points | $0 Free | $35 One site, list price |
| One office 1 firewall, 6 switches, 8 access points | $59 Starter | $35 One site, list price |
| Five sites 5 firewalls, 40 switches, 55 access points | $136 Starter, plus 2 gateways | $158–$175 12-month term to list price |
| MSP, 40 clients 600 devices across 40 client sites | $1,001 MSP plan | $1,120–$1,400 12-month term to list price |
Domotz's list price is $35 per site with no commitment. On a 12-month term it drops to $31.50 per site from 5 sites and $28 from 10. The five-site example assumes one address space for Witina AI.
Witina AI's MSP plan is $899 a month for 400 devices and 100 client networks, then $0.51 per device. Every plan →
